She is that kid pulling you by your shirt, asking you to look down, to observe her while she plays around. Unfortunately we became adults, we turned our faces to other priorities and while we did so, Gravity kept pulling us down when everything she is asking for is a little bit more of attention.
The same kind of quality time you spent together when you gave your first steps, when you got your first scars and fell from the top of a rock or rooftop you should not have climbed, which still makes you remember of some adult saying: - I told you would fall, I told you would hurt yourself.
This turns out to be you own voice now, the same tone of voice you will end up using with your kids, unless, well, unless you look down and give some more importance to the kid who has never grown older, the little girl called gravity.
So, how do we do it? You move, you walk instead of driving, you jump, you go instead of waiting, you run as fast as Forrest Gump would, you climb, you fly, you sit on the floor and stand up as when you were a kid. You reconnect with Gravity, and then you go a step forward, you don't take her to the park, you take her to the box, to the gym, to the rack. You lift weights, sometimes you pull them, sometimes you push, sometimes Gravity wins and you fall, sometimes you win it and you break your own personal records.
And while doing so, something is true, she still will wear us out, introducing us everyday to the effects of Aging: the wrinkles will come, the skin gets bruised and rugged, testicles will stretch reaching out to the knees, the most attractive women breasts fall becoming jelly bags resting close to belly buttons, Kim Kardashian and Nicky Minaj fans will have buttocks enough to accomodate their whole families. Joints start failing, vital organs start playing tricks on us, and our ears will stretch down as big as Dumbo's.
But then what? Aging is not a disease, it is a process, so it is up to you if you will let Gravity deliver it all at once to you, or in very small pieces, year after year. You just need to show her some appreciation, show that you care and that you are aware of her existence, and it doesn't matter what happens, you Keep Strong.
